Federal Funding Decision: Update

Update:
Today, March 22, 2012, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) awarded federal tax credit funding for proposed DESC Delridge facility located at 5444 Delridge Way SW. 

Multiple community members submitted letters to the WSHFC to express their concerns and additional community members spoke at the public hearing.
 
In the coming months, Delridge Community Forum hopes to plan additional forums on this and other issues as they pertain to the North Delridge community.

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) will meet on March 22 to review and determine if tax credit funding will be awarded to DESC’s proposed project on Delridge Way SW. The meeting will have a public comment period. Written comments are also accepted.

Questions and Answers

 In November 2011, Delridge Community Forum submitted 37 questions to DESC. These questions were consolidated from the hundreds of questions and comments collected at the October 11, 2011 community meeting, hosted by Delridge Community Forum.  DESC provided answers to these questions on March 6, 2012.

DESC’s Response to Community Questions 

We encourage neighbors to read through this following to find answers to questions that address community concerns.  If your questions were not addressed, or if you find that you have additional questions, email: delridgeforum@gmail.com.  We will work with the newly established Advisory Committee to have additional questions answered.

DESC Delridge/Master Use Permit Comment Period and Meeting

Master Use Permit Info:

DESC applied for a Master Use Permit on January 23, 2012, which opened a public comment period with the Department of Planning.  The public comment period has been extended from the usual 2 week period to a 4 week period, with all written comments due by Feb. 29. 

Written comments should address both design and environmental impact issues and may be submitted to the City’s Department of Planning by completing this form: DESC Delridge Land Use Comment webform.

Neighbors may also offer their comments in person at the upcoming Design Review Meeting and at the Environmental Impact Review Meeting (see below for details).

The Master Use Permit Applications materials are posted for review on our Design Review page.

The Department of Planning is holding two upcoming meetings related to this project.  Both meetings will offer a public comment period:
